Sorry about the Delay...

I am very much delayed in even getting the list of available coupons up here, but I will have that up soon so you can at least KNOW what I have available. I worked until 3am so that threw the schedule off a bit. That is what keeps this adventure called "Frugal and Free" going.
Back back soon with the coupon list.

A Word about Rebate Forms

Okay! I have noticed a pattern on my website.
In the past 3-4 months I have noticed a fair amount of 10¢ orders. You read it right! Ten cent orders. I went with it because I felt very strongly AND STILL DO, that I should not set a minimum order amount like most other coupon and form services do. (Some may think of me as naiive or downright stupid but I do have my reasons for doing what I do.)

Recently, PayPal has upped their prices so I no longer am being charged a 10¢ fee to process 1 order it is now 33¢ for each PayPal transaction. Add that to the postage of 1 stamp for an order of 1 rebate form. It COSTS ME 70¢ to send that out and that is not even counting the supplies or the actual form! I must draw the line somewhere. I must start charging more for the forms because there is a pattern---when people cannot find these forms anywhere else, they find them at my site. And I should PAY someone to come get them? I don't think so.

A Bit of Background: I work 40+ hours in a call center that outsources jobs around the world, pitching credit card applications to people with either "disposable" income or with no brains in their head to not charge themselves into debt. I started this website because I believe in the "art" of couponing. I see how God has blessed my family so very much with the wisdom and knowledge of being an avid couponer. I like to help people. I want to share what I have learned. I like NOT imposing limits on people. But, when it is COSTING me money to send out 1 form and these people NEVER come back to find other coupons---I have to stop and re-assess the situation here on forms.
Let me add this as well. For those faithful people who come back and find the coupons and forms they need and order MORE THAN 1 FORM, you are welcome to email me and I will work with you on the forms. I will not charge you the full increased price. But, to those people who come to my site, find the 1 form they cannot get anywhere else and never return to the site, even out of a small sense of gratitude for finding the form, sent with NO COST POSTAGE, you will pay more for the form if you want it badly enough.

Hopefully, this won't be taken too harshly, but, I am merely thinking of my family's well being. I am not working in a sweat shop to fund sending forms out to people..I am working that job only until I no longer have to because I am able to provide this service to people full time. I would love nothing better than to deal with coupons and deals 24/7.

So, please, look at the site, hopefully you will find what you are looking for..and PLEASE, tell all your friends, post on your favorite boards about FrugalandFree.com. We need the exposure. We provide a very good service and we are very generous in doing so. God will bless us for this. But, I cannot be taken advantage of in the process. The regulars to the site will understand. Thank you.
Well, time to get ready for "the job."
Have a great day! Now...

Deal Flash- - - - ->

I was on a desperation trip to Walmart for "jeans" for my 14 year old son last night. I spotted the Crest Spinbrush toothbrushes with Veggie Tales characters down to $2--made me very mad that I had NOT 1 of my $1 c/o's with me which would have been a buck a piece. What a deal! I got it anyway because my youngest loves Veggie Tales. **sigh**

Pointers to Saving

Here's a rule of thumb:
If it's 25% off, buy twice as much as you normally would for a week. If it's 50% off, buy up to 10 times as much as you would normally use in a week. Anything over 50% off, buy as much as you can reasonably afford and have room to store. Be careful though and don't believe the store ads. "Buy one get one free" is no good if they've doubled the price.

We "couponers" and "deal-finders" and other wise "frugal-types" know that we need to do some quick calculations to make sure a sale is really a "deal."

I was in King Soopers last night, making my "end-of-the-week" sweep before the new ad broke today. I had given a little ole woman a couple of my CoffeeMate coupons and then I was putting back a couple creamers because I certainly wasn't going to "pay" for it when I had been getting it for free for a couple months. Anyway, something caught my eye..(I have excellent peripheral vision!) I looked in the milk cooler (which I thought I had eyeballed to death previously) and saw half gallons of King Soopers whole milk with 50¢ mark down stickers on them. I thought I had died and gone to "deal heaven!" I grabbed 10 so I paid $5 for 5 gallons of whole milk. The date was for today but that doesn't bother me. We drink a whole lot of milk at my house and it goes very quick. I think I may need to think "cow" soon. But, who would milk it? **grin**

Well, I will be back to hopefully share some deals with you from this week's ad. In the meanwhile, have a great day...

The Proof is in the Pudding...at 48¢ a 4-pack!

Most people don't think that coupons will save them very much money. I have heard the following reasons why people don't "coupon." "
  • It's only a few cents...it won't save me that much!
  • How can I be saving money if I buy all this stuff I don't use?
  • I don't have the time to clip, sort & mess with all those coupons!

Well, all I can say is..."You have no idea how much money you could be saving your family and friends/loved ones around you."

I used to think that I didn't have the time or the energy to mess with the coupons, but when I saw the opportunity to save SO MUCH money, I learned how to MAKE the time.

I used to buy generic products all the time. I needed the cheapest thing on the shelf to make ends meet. I think one of the few things I am "brand loyal" on is toilet paper but I have learned to compromise at times, learning when to bend. Now, I get name brand products for free or nearly free by combining coupons, sales and promotions as well as rebates to mail in to the manufacturers.

I have learned the "art" of couponing. Studying the ads, paying attention to prices and noticing wonderful, trackable trends in the grocery business and learning to utilize them to my family's benefit. For instance, if I see tuna on sale for a great price, I will buy up as much as I can to last until the next sale. That way, I won't be paying beefed up prices and I won't be at the grocer and manufacturer's mercy.

I used to call this a hobby that helped my family. I was wrong. This is a way of life. I put in enough time for this to be considered my second job. And I do it because I love it and my family.

Here are some of the "frees" and nearly "frees" I got today:

King Soopers

  • Lender's Bagels-refrigerated (w/ raincheck)-FREE
  • Soup at Hand-FREE
  • Coffeemate creamer-FREE
  • Stayfree pantiliners-FREE
  • SlimFast Drinks 6 pack- 50¢
  • Nyquil Liquid Caps trial size-FREE
  • Herbal Essence trial size-FREE
  • Degree deodorant trial size-FREE

Total before coupons, in vacinity of $140 and I spent $28.

Wrapping Up The K-Mart Deal

I must admit, my deal pales in comparison to some of the deals I have read about. The deal ended tonight. I got 9 total free pkgs of Bounty paper towels and Charmin toilet tissue at K-mart. I swear, I will never buy trial size Herbal Essence at K-Mart again. It throws them every time..The product is 99¢ and the coupon is $1. For a penny, the cashier locked her register, went to CS and then came back telling me they are only good on the larger size. She tried to get me to get the big one but I said "No. I will just get the 3 bar bundle of Ivory soap."

Here's what we (my daughter & I, the "couponprincess-in-training") got tonite:

  • 9 Always Pantiliners
  • 8 trial size Crest
  • 8 trial size Dove deodorant
  • 2 Dawn dishsoap
  • 5 -3-bar bundle Ivory soap
  • 2 -6 packs Slim Fast
  • Kodak Disp Camera (Rebate from Clearisil deal a few months ago)
  • 5 -8 roll pkg Bounty paper towels
  • 2 -24 roll Charmin TP

I am pooped. See ya tomorrow for coupons.

Deals, Deals, Deals

I have done this deal at K-mart AND King Soopers...
Slim Fast 6-pack $5 off when you buy 4 Unilever products.
KS priced the SF 6 pack at $5.50 less the $5 c/o and I got 4 trial size items (Degree deod 79¢ for free with 55¢ c/o was doubled to $1 and 3 Dove body wash trial size for 19¢ each after the 75¢ c/o was doubled to $1) So I paid $1.07 total.(Toss in some tax..)
K-mart has the SlimFast for $5 a 6 pack but no doubling and I could have chosen my 4 participating brands better for less money. I paid a total of $3.01 after coupons but I got 5 Unilever products.

On the K-mart/ Bounty & Charmin deal, I used $1 c/o for Herbal Essence trial size shampoos x 4 so on that transaction, I only paid tax. Will be going back Saturday to finish up the deal.

Gotta run....back to work tomorrow. Get some great deals...
