Trial Size Cookie Dough

Hello,
I have seen the trial size Pillsbury Cookie Dough, 8 oz , that makes 8 cookies. It is at Safeway and King Soopers this week. I wasn't willing to pay $1 for it but as I was going through coupons, which is ALL THE TIME, I noticed a Pillsbury Cookie Dough coupon good for 50¢ off 2. It says ANY...with no mention of trial size being excluded and in my area, both of these stores double coupons. 50¢ isn't bad especially if you are a single or elderly person, or merely don't want the temptation of a full size roll of cookie dough.
I have about 30 of these coupons left if you are interested...Think of gift giving, a small cookie sheet, with the cookie dough, a spatula and a potholder..wrapped up pretty, with a bow and someone would be very happy.
Just an idea...

New Malt O Meal Cereal

Just wanted to let you know that I have seen, purchased and tasted the new cereal by Malt O Meal, in a BOX no less...not the typical MOM bag. It is called Muffin Tops Cereal in Blueberry Flavor. It sells for $1.99 at Grocery Warehouse, an Albertson's owned store and I had the 50¢ c/o that EVERYONE has tons of...$1.49 a box, which is the most I will pay for cereal, only if I have to.
Check it out.. it wll be even cheaper when on sale...but it was my "splurge" item last week.

Some good deals at ...Walmart!

I know, I know....Walmart. I really haven't been going there much...but when I have to replace blown-out- knees- boys' jeans, sorry I have to go to Walmart. It's the best buy. Anyway...onward to the deals.

I found these Bumble Bee Sensations Tuna Kits with a individual size can of seasoned tuna and crackers plus a "thing" enclosed to scoop the tuna...for 25¢ I got a few of the Basil and Sun-dried tomato and a lot of the Spicy Thai variety. I allowed myself to be rushed out of the store and didn't get as many as I wanted. Of course, when I went back specifically for the tuna, they had no more and it was back in the tuna section at regular price. UGH! But, on a happy note...I found 1 lb bags of raw almonds for 50¢ a bag. There was 10, I got ten.
Also if you have anymore of the Dannon Frusion $1.50/2 c/o you can get them 2/58¢ at Walmart.


Anyway, that's my "deal drop" for the day. Have a very prosperous yet frugal day.

Just Some Thoughts...

I just returned from King Soopers and it was a pretty good trip. Not what I would call a "sweep" but not bad.

I got 1/2 gallons of milk for 50¢(I got 10), Fresh Express Caesar Salad kits (6) for free. They were in the produce markdown for $1 a bag and I had $2 c/o off 2. I got a huge bag of broccoli for $1.50 and mixed veggies for 75¢. Sliced mushrooms for 75¢, Cottage Cheese, 32 oz was $1.50. All of this is just great for salads and my attempt at healthier eating. And who said all we get is junk food couponing and wise shopping?

I have gotten pretty spoiled from all the "steals and deals" I have gotten lately. But, it is okay when I don't get a "sweep" of a certain department. I just always have my eyes open and my binder of coupons ready. That brings me to a suggestion. I always try to have a wide variety of coupons in my binder, such as ANY lunchmeat, cheese, dairy product, because it will be on sale or markdown for sure. When things are on sale plus a coupon, that is usually real good. But, when there is an “overstock” clearance or “reduced to clear” markdowns plus a coupon—WOW, that is just phenomenal prices. That’s usually when I get things not “on sale” but “on free.” **grin**

So, give it a try, even if you and your family don’t use certain brands, your local food bank or other charity with a food bank can certainly benefit from any donation. (Here is where I step up on the “soap box”) …There are so many people in OUR nation that are hungry, going without. It breaks my heart when I speak with older folks and find out how little they have to make it on. It’s a shame. All the children going to bed hungry, without the bare necessities and just a few special things to bring that twinkle back in their eye again. Kids don’t understand poverty. They shouldn’t have to, really. What I am trying to teach my children is that we ought to feel very grateful that God has blessed us with a way to get our groceries and household items for a mere fraction of what most people pay.
