I LOVE that proverb. It speaks volumes to me. My family and I have had some terribly rough times in our life and I guess you could say our wisdom is born of pain. There were more times than I can count that we had to go to the local food bank, or Salvation Army or a church to get food and supplies to help us make it through.

Maybe that is why I am such a "maniac" as my DH calls me, about saving money and getting "steals and deals." I like to share what God has given me...if I get 90 bags of Goldfish crackers, I am like "Johnny Appleseed" and share them along my travels and in my circle. Plus, I will give surplus to charities. But I want to do more.

That's great if I share my deals--it feeds people for a meal or two, but I want to feed them for life. That is why I like to share HOW I get my deals and the art of couponing. In doing so, it is contagious. People will share that with others they know...and the chain has begun. Besides, it feels so good to get these sales, bargains and free items..and to know you didn't have to ask anyone for it....you put the deal together yourself.

I know where people are coming from when they are having hard times. I have been there, done that. I still have a long way to go to get where my family and I would like to be...but, we are on the right road..and I LOVE the scenery along the way.

Something is "fishy"....

Sorry I couldn't resist. I got a total of 90 bags of Pepperidge Farms Goldfish crackers this past week at King Soopers with their $1 a bag sale and the $4 and $8 catalina coupon toward your next order. I had an initial cost of $8 so I ended up paying approximately 9 cents a bag....
I have felt like Johnny Appleseed giving everybody I work with Goldfish crackers. LOL

I will be writing more about deals and steals...but my day job calls..

All in a day off...

After getting out to vote (which is WHY I took today off,) I stopped off at the store to get my FREE Pepcid AC 5 ct, up to $3.75 off. I found the "catalina" coupon in the parking lot on another shopping trip. When I went to King Soopers the other night, I handed the coupon to my "coupon princess-in-training" daughter to hold. I got flustered with something my youngest did and I forgot to get the Pepcid. I realized that they had taken off the $3.75 but I didn't have the product. DUH!
Well, I called the store, they said to come in, tell the head cashier and I could get the Pepcid. I did just that and scouted the store for some other deals while I was there. I saw that Suave lotion was on sale 3 for $5 (1.66 each) and I happened to have $1 off coupons making them 66¢ each. $1.98 for 3 lotions, not bad right? Well, I had a $2 off your next order coupon from the Kraft deal so, I got all the lotion free. Got a Suave body wash for 66¢ too since I had a $1 for that too. It even had a sample of lotion with it.
The Clear & Clean facial products were $2 off, plus I found a coupon for $1.50...made my facial cleanser 9..yes, nine cents.

Before that I was in Grocery Warehouse to get Zatarain's rice mix on sale for $1 a box...when I was walking up behind the guy marking down some things. I swear, he was just putting the last 99¢ sticker on something when I walked up. They were Hillshire Farm Lil Smokies for 99¢. I had only 3 coupons with me but it brought the price down to 64¢ and the other four were the markdown price, which was fine with me. They sell for well over $3 a package...I got 7 for what SOME PEOPLE would pay for 2!
Also, found Hunt's ketchup in the markdown for 99¢ but had a 25¢ c/o.
A very good shopping day...God is good.

Whichever way you go, Get Out & VOTE!

Good Morning....It's finally here. It doesn't matter which way you vote today. Just make sure to get out there and VOTE. It is your right as an American citizen and quite frankly I believe it is a priviledge we all have. I think we live in such a "free" country that we take a lot for granted.
Okay, let's get ready and exercise our right to VOTE today.

Whichever way the election goes, I will still coupon and save as much money as I can for my family and give the excess to those who need it. I may need to coupon more so with one in office more than the other. But, I will do it no matter who holds the office of President of the US. If I won the lotto tomorrow, I would still coupon and shop deals & steals. It is an "involuntary reaction" I have done for so long. I wouldn't have it any other way.
